Khaya Mandevu

The self-catering Khaya Mandevu is an old farmhouse, with a great view of the surrounding mountains in the beautiful valley of Schoemanskloof - an ideal getaway for nature lovers and those keen on activities like birding, hiking and mountain biking.
Falls Fish Farm - Schoemanskloof Retreat in Schoemanskloof has received a Best Value award.

The space

Is quirky and cosy with great outdoor living areas overlooking the dam below with great  views of the surrounding mountains and easy access to the nearby Crocodile River. The house has a large, fenced garden and accommodates 7 guests with 6 sharing in 3 separate bedrooms and an extra guest with a bed in the lounge area.  An 8th guest could be squeezed in if they are willing to sleep on a couch. A cot is also available. There are 2 bathrooms, 1 en suite, and an outside shower. A small plunge pool is situated on one side of the house. If babies or toddlers are visiting it can be covered with some heavy wooden frames - please let us know if this is required.

Guest access

Khaya Mandevu is accessible via a rough farm road, preferably with a high clearance vehicle.  4x4 is not essential except in very rainy weather and most normal cars can get there if they are not too low slung and if one drives slowly and carefully.  One can be transferred to and from the cottage at the beginning and end of your stay if necessary.  In between transfers can be arranged at an extra charge of R100 if organised well in advance.
